In today's interconnected world, the quality of healthcare for linguistically diverse patients is greatly affected by language barriers. Misunderstandings between patients and healthcare providers, arising from language discrepancies, hinder access to crucial health information. This often leads to increased health complications, challenges in medication adherence, and difficulties in managing health conditions independently. Unfortunately, human interpreters are not always available on demand, leaving these patients without the essential support they need.
Supanova Health is developing Medivox, a digital-health tool that delivers reliable and accessible interpretation tailored for healthcare settings. Medivox combines a database of pre-translated phrases with AI-powered speech recognition and real-time translation to enable safe and flexible language interpretation whenever a human interpreter is not available.
Our Team
Francesco is a linguist by training, with expertise in healthcare communication and Natural Language Processing, as well an experienced project manager in healthcare innovation. Francesco leads the technical development of Medivox. Francesco’s languages are English, Italian, Spanish, French, German and Hindi.
Chat is a medical doctor with a keen interest in healthcare innovation and medical entrepreneurship. Thanks to his medical background, Chat leads the development of Medivox’s knowledge base and ensures Medivox adapts to complex clinical workflows. Chat speaks English and Sinhalese.
Justin is a software developer with experience in medical device prototyping, embedded systems, and IT support. At Supanova Health, he contributes to the software development of Medivox with a practical, hands-on approach to digital health innovation. Justin’s languages are English and Mandarin.
